Nationwide, challenging student behaviors are increasing due to various factors, including trauma and mental health needs. Many teachers feel they are not adequately prepared to address these behaviors, and this has become one of the top reasons educators are leaving the field, says expert Heather Bushelman, an MTSS coordinator for Boone County Schools, the third-largest school district in Kentucky.
