If you search “top employability skills” on the internet, you’ll see terms such as “problem solving,” “communication,” “teamwork,” and the list goes on. These skills are often referred to as “21st Century Skills,” or “soft” skills. They are the skills that are more related to how the potential employee will navigate the work environment than the specific technical skills needed to do the job.
When K-12 schools are able to teach these skills to students, it helps equip those students with the skills that are most desirable by future employers, setting them up for success in their careers and in other areas of their lives.
