Securing impactful internships is often challenging, particularly when managing a large number of students or partnering with industries inexperienced in supervising high school interns. Denver Public Schools has been pioneering efforts to develop enriching internship experiences that extend beyond conventional approaches.

This webinar will explore how remote and hybrid internships, along with Career Academies, have successfully filled gaps in business partnerships and expanded opportunities for students. Participants will gain knowledge about innovative internship strategies and receive guidance on implementing or enhancing similar programs in their own contexts.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Differentiate a Career Academy from a traditional internship and recognize its distinct advantages.
  • Outline the process for establishing a Career Academy, including curriculum design, securing funding, and managing logistics, as a response to recruitment challenges.
  • Gain an understanding of the structure, benefits, and challenges of virtual and hybrid internships.
  • Learn effective strategies for addressing the challenges associated with virtual and hybrid internship formats.

This session will also include a Q&A session and key takeaway resources to leverage at your school.
