Professional Golf Tournament: Large Event Management

The Customer

This annual professional golf tournament is held in a U.S. city as a part of the PGA Tour.
It draws thousands of attendees and spans hundreds of acres. Each year, the tournament deploys nearly 2,000 volunteers to maintain attendee safety and ensure that the event goes smoothly.

The Situation

This golf tournament's management team wanted to improve crowd safety and quickly communicate pertinent information with volunteers during the multi-day tournament so that they could prevent and respond to security incidents and provide help when needed.

The Solution

Tournament volunteers downloaded the LiveSafe Mobile Platform and used its safety communication functionality to submit reports, respond to security concerns, and remain aware of changes in safety and scheduling during the invitational event.

The Result

During the tournament, the security Command Center used LiveSafe's Broadcast functionality to keep volunteers informed of weather disruptions and scheduling changes. Volunteers also submitted 45 tips regarding security matters including suspicious activity, medical concerns, and unsafe conditions. Throughout the multi-day event, LiveSafe enabled real-time communication between event management teams and helped maintain attendee safety.
