Dartmouth College: Hazing & Alcohol Violations

Solution:
The Customer
Dartmouth College is a private Ivy League university in Hanover, New Hampshire with approximately 4,500 undergraduate students. The university has a variety of student groups, including 34 varsity sports teams, 28 Greek chapters, and more than 160 student organizations.
The Situation
Although Dartmouth College has strict alcohol and hazing policies, it appeared that improper behavior was going unreported. The university needed to provide community members with an easy and safe way to share incidents of misconduct, anonymously if they desire.
The Result
Dartmouth College equipped its students with the Vector LiveSafe Mobile App, which enabled them to anonymously report unsafe practices such as violations of alcohol and hazing policies.
The Solution
External investigators reviewed tips submitted through Vector LiveSafe and conducted independent research that identified five Greek houses and two sports teams in violation of school policies. This allowed Dartmouth College to address incidents of hazing and alcohol use and ensure a safer campus community.
