Navigating the Leading Maintenance and Reliability Conference, MARCON 2017

This week, industrial organizations from across the country convene in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the 2017 Maintenance and Reliability Conference. The event, which runs March 6-9, features a wide array of sector-specific events and workshops, all centered on the subject of production asset management.

Monday, March 6

MARCON 2017 begins with several workshops, including the business case for asset management and computerized maintenance management system usage.

Two sessions count for credit toward the Reliability and Maintainability Implementation Certification: “Essential Reliable Manufacturing Skills” with Ian McKinnon, founding principal for Reliability Solutions, and “Implementing a Reliability Improvement Program from Scratch,” hosted by Mobius Institute Founder and Managing Director Jason Tranter.

Tuesday, March 7

The second day of MARCON 2017 features more workshops, including sessions on asset management program implementation, maintenance planning, outage management and reliability leader development. Additionally, an expo area featuring more than 30 exhibitors is set to open.

Attendees can also take certification exams, including Certified Reliability Leader, Certified Asset Management Assessor, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician and International Council for Machinery Lubrication tests.

Wednesday, March 8

Klaus Blache, director for the Reliability and Maintainability Center at the University of Tennessee, kicks off the third day of MARCON 2017 with a plenary session titled “The Reliability of Everything – The Future is Now.”

Ron Reimer of Eli Lilly and Company follows with the first of four keynote speeches. Tennessee Valley Authority Senior Vice President of Transmission and Power Supply Jacinda Woodward gives the second keynote later in the day.

Thursday, March 9

MARCON 2017 closes with an hour-long panel discussion on common roadblocks to maintenance plan implementation.
