CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

Vector Solutions’ online training catalog for law enforcement agencies helps personnel improve the skills they need to perform effectively on the job and ensure safety. Whether you’re using Vector Solutions to satisfy continuing education standards or seeking professional development, Vector Solutions helps agencies streamline it all.

Alabama AL – 6 of the 12 hours of mandated continuing education can be completed through Vector Solutions at the discretion of the department and requires agency approval from the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC).

Alaska AK – Vector Solutions offers 123 courses that are accepted by state agencies for the required 2 hours of continuing education due annually.

Arkansas AR – 14 of the 16 hours of annual training can be completed with Vector Solutions upon agency approval and submittal to the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards & Training (AR CLEST) for approval.

Arizona AZ – 8 hours required for the Peace Officer license can be fulfilled by Vector Solutions at the department’s discretion. Training must be approved by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) or sponsored and approved by the employing agency.

California CA – The courses offered by Vector Solutions have not been approved by CA POST.

Colorado CO – 24 hours of continuing education for the Peace Officer license can be taken through Vector Solutions upon the approval by either each agency head or the head of the training region.

Connecticut CT – This state does not accept any online training at this time.

Delaware DE – 6 in-service hours are fulfillable through Vector Solutions pending approval by the employing agency.

District of Columbia DC – Approval information not available at this time.

Florida FL – 40 hours of training from Vector Solutions is applicable depending on each employing agency’s approval of online courses.

Georgia GA – of the 80 hours of mandated training, 76 hours can be completed through Vector Solutions if training is administered by a POST certified instructor, and approved by Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (GA POST), currently 243 courses for 173 hours.

Hawaii HI – Approval information not available at this time.

Idaho ID – 40 hours of Continuing Training must be approved by Idaho Peace Officer Standards & Training (ID POST).

Illinois IL – The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) requires courses be pre-approved. The courses offered by Vector Solutions have not been approved by this state.

Indiana IN – 18 of the 24 CE hours that can be completed online are approved through Vector Solutions by the Law Enforcement Training Board (IN LETB). A total of 278 courses are approved for 212.5 hours.

Iowa IA – 36 hours of training can be completed with Vector Solutions courses at the discretion of the employing agency administrator.

Kansas KS – of the 40 hours of annual required continuing education, 20 hours can be completed online with Vector Solutions courses if approved by the agency head or designee.

Kentucky KY – In-service Training hours must be approved by Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KY KLEC). The courses offered by Vector Solutions have not been approved in Kentucky.

Indiana IN – 18 of the 24 CE hours that can be completed online are approved through Vector Solutions by the Law Enforcement Training Board (IN LETB). A total of 278 courses are approved for 212.5 hours.

Louisiana LA – the Louisiana Peace Officer Standards and Training Council accepts Vector Solutions training hours if pre-approved by the agency head/training instructor.

Maryland MD – 6 of the 18 required training hours can be completed online with Vector Solutions if approved and submitted to the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions (MD PCTC) by the training director.

Massachusetts MA – 16 hours of Vector Solutions courses can be applied to the mandated 40 hours of continuing education if approved by the deploying agency.

Michigan MI – does not have required hours; only a firearms course with qualification due annually. Vector Solutions is approved by the state with 49 courses for 49 hours.

Minnesota MN – 48 hours of CE can be completed with Vector Solutions and have been approved by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (MN POST). A total of 124 Vector Solutions courses are approved for 163 hours.

Mississippi MS – CE hours must be approved by Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training (MS BLEOST).

Missouri MO – 22 online training hours can be applied to the 24 CE hour credits with Vector Solutions courses that are approved by the Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training Program (MO POST). Vector Solutions is accepted with 270 courses for 204.5 hours.

Montana MT – CE hours must be approved by Montana Public Safety Officer Standards and Training (MT POST) Council. The courses offered by Vector Solutions have not been approved by this state.

Nebraska NE – 10 of the 20 training hours can be fulfilled with Vector Solutions training based on the approval of individual police chiefs and sheriffs of law enforcement agencies.

Nevada NV – 12 CE hours can be completed with Vector Solutions' 67 courses for 67 hours if approved and submitted to the Nevada Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).

New Hampshire NH – 8 of continuing education for a certified police or corrections officer can be completed with Vector Solutions with the approval by the officer’s agency.

New Jersey NJ – The courses offered by Vector Solutions have not been approved by this state.

New Mexico NM – Vector Solutions courses are approved by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy (NMLEA) with 198 courses for 138.5 hours to fulfill 30 of the 40 mandated training hours.

New York NY – continuing education requirements are at discretion of the agency and Vector Solutions can be utilized to meet these requirements with the approval by said agency.

North Carolina NC – 24 CE hours can be completed through Vector Solutions if departments get the approval by the Department Head and administer it by an instructor that is certified by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.

North Dakota ND – Vector Solutions offers 124 courses that can be applied to the permitted 20 hours of online training for the total 60 continuing education hours. These courses have been approved by the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).

Ohio OH – renewal requirements for continuing professional training (CPT) are determined by the state’s budget and the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OH OPOTC). Vector Solutions training can be applied to meet requirements if approved by the agency.

Oklahoma OK – the 25 hours of required annual training can be completed with 114 of Vector Solutions' courses that have been approved by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (OK CLEET).

Oregon OR – 84 hours of continuing education are fulfillable with Vector Solutions at each agency’s discretion. The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (OR DPSST) requires training hours be approved by each agency.

Pennsylvania PA – The Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission is changing its rules and the decision on continuing education has not been decided.

Rhode Island RI – Rhode Island has no completion requirements for continuing education. Rhode Island Police Officers Commission on Standards and Training (RI POST) does not approve online training.

South Carolina SC – Vector Solutions offers 100 approved courses by CLEEC and 24 courses approved by the SC Criminal Justice Academy (SCCJA) to fulfill the 40 hours of required training for the class 1 Law Enforcement Officer license.

South Dakota SD – the 40 continuing education hours can be completed by Vector Solutions at the discretion of the department and must be approved by the agency.

Tennessee TN – 32 of the 40 CEH for the Peace Officer license can be completed with Vector Solutions' online training courses if approved by each agency’s submittal to the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards Training Commission (TN POST).

Texas TX – 80 hours of CEH can be fulfilled with Vector Solutions' 122 approved courses by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)

Utah UT – the 40 hours of continuing education can be satisfied with Vector Solutions' online courses if agency approval is given.

Vermont VT – 30 CEH are dependent on the employing agency to approve online training and Vector Solutions.

Virginia VA – 40 hours of CE must be approved by one of the academies.

Washington WA – 24 CEH do not require approval by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC). Vector Solutions can be utilized to satisfy CE requirements according to agency approval.

West Virginia WV – 4 of 16 mandated CE hours can be completed online and Vector Solutions' courses can help satisfy these hours depending on the approval of each law enforcement agency.

Wisconsin WI – 12 of the required 24 hours of training can be completed with online training. Vector Solutions' course approvals are up to each employing agency.

Wyoming WY – 20 out of 40 CEH can be completed online with Vector Solutions and it is up to the employing agency if the officer is permitted to take Vector Solutions courses.
