Chapter 5 of the 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC) contains requirements for special occupancies. In this online interactive course, we will review several changes that were made in Articles 500 through 516 for hazardous locations. Notable changes include the relocation of fourteen definitions to Article 100, a surprising new allowance for wiring methods in Class I locations, underground wiring changes for commercial garages and fuel dispensing locations, and new fuel storage classification requirements

Keeping up with the latest changes to the NEC is critical to ensuring safe electrical wiring practices. Chapter 5 of the 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC) contains the requirements for special occupancies. This interactive online course will teach you about several changes that were made in the articles for special occupancies, including health care facilities and RV parks as well as marinas and boatyards. Notable changes include, new allowable wiring methods and equipment for health care facilities, revised receptacle requirements at RV parks, and more restrictive ground fault protection and signage requirements at marinas and boatyards.
