Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T): Datum Selection and Interpretation

When using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to describe a part, you often need to specify the orientation or location of a part feature with reference to other features on the part. From the perspective of a designer, two things must be kept in mind. First, you must communicate to the manufacturer or inspector how to treat imperfect features when making or measuring a part.
