What is a site-specific health and safety plan?
A health and safety plan should address all hazards and the requirements and procedures needed to protect employees. It should include decontamination procedures, an emergency response plan, confined space entry procedures, a spill containment program, medical surveillance requirements, air monitoring requirements, and a hazard analysis and list of required PPE for each task in the workplan.
What is a medical surveillance program?
A medical surveillance program is required to monitor the health of workers who may be exposed to hazardous materials.
What is the difference between a procedure and a work practice?
Wearing protective clothing when working with hazardous materials is a work practice. Procedures are needed to explain how to use, maintain, and store that protective clothing.
