Thursday, October 10, at 2:00 PM (ET) | 11:00 AM (PT)

Despite an institution’s best prevention efforts, it is an unfortunate reality that critical incidents such as injuries, deaths, campus protests, natural disasters, hate crimes, etc., can occur on a college campus. As students, faculty, and staff return to campus after an incident, administrators are tasked with responding and supporting students and the community.

This webinar will provide participants with strategies to effectively support a campus community in the aftermath of a critical incident. Participants will learn to apply trauma-informed practices, develop comprehensive communication plans, conduct post-incident analyses, and create long-term recovery and prevention strategies.

Charity Stutzman, Sr. Director of Higher Education at Vector Solutions, will share lessons learned in the field. Her work as a campus advocate years ago taught her the skills needed in recovery and trauma response for campus community members. She will provide her unique perspective on treating a campus incident with the same level of care and concern, incorporating strategies that repair the harm caused and address trauma while balancing community planning.
